In Agatha Christie’s cleverly crafted murder mystery, Caroline Crale was convicted of murdering her husband. However, there were five additional suspects: Philip Blake (the stockbroker) who went to market, Meredith Blake (the amateur herbalist) who stayed at home, Elsa Greer (the three-time divorcee) who enjoyed roast beef, Cecilia Williams (the devoted governess) who had no meat, and Angela Warren (the disfigured sister) who cried “wee wee wee” all the way home. Although sixteen years have passed, Hercule Poirot can’t seem to shake off the memory of the nursery rhyme associated with the case.
