Originally planned as a serene vacation on the idyllic shores of Cape Cod, just my dear brother and me, the tranquility was shattered when we stumbled upon a lifeless body in the rental house. Oddly enough, he dismisses my potential assistance, despite my extensive hours dedicated to true crime podcasts and my rewarding role as a second-grade teacher.
A collision of personalities between a bold bounty hunter and a spirited elementary school teacher emerges – an unconventional duo tasked with unraveling the murder mystery. Though no one solicited their partnership, a series of attempts on my life forces us to become an inseparable team, regardless of the challenges we face.
Initially, my intention was solely to fulfill my duties, not to oversee the escapades of an amateur detective. However, with time, the burden of her presence lessens. Admittedly, she’s headstrong, diverting, and has an uncanny ability to land herself in jeopardy. Simultaneously, she embodies bravery and beauty, evoking memories of the home I left behind three years ago. The conflicting emotions of longing and protectiveness that she stirs within me threaten my tranquility. As this perilous attraction deepens, I recognize the urgency to crack the murder case and return to my nomadic lifestyle. But the question lingers: will destiny snatch her away from me before I comprehend that the journey I’ve been on has been leading me to her all along?
